California Sakeji Reunion 2004California Lutheran University, Thousand Oaks, California

Dear Sakeji Associate,
Happy New Year to you! We trust that the beginning of 2004 finds you in excellent health and good spirits.
Our good news starting out the year is that we have managed to secure the dates of July 15 - 19, 2004 for our Sakeji reunion at California Lutheran University in the Los Angeles suburb of Thousand Oaks. During the summer months when the students are on vacation, CLU rents out its campus to approved organizations, and it is an ideal location for our reunion.
First of all it comes in at the right price for what we anticipated for a successful occasion. In addition to spotlessly clean dorms for singles, apartments for families and handicapped-accessible accommodations (all complete with linens, kitchenettes and laundry facilities), the cafeteria-style meals are delicious and wholesome. The campus grounds are well-groomed, and we have great sports fields and facilities, including a gymnasium and swimming pool with life-guard, available to us. There are also classrooms, theaters with audio-visual equipment, a lovely chapel, and great hiking opportunities in the surrounding hills - all in the picturesque setting of Thousand Oaks. There is a coffee shop and a bookstore with a post office and business center on the campus. Whilst we understand that we don't have to have all the comforts of home in order to have a reunion, it's nice to have all these facilities available to us in one location. The university also provides around-the-clock on-site campus security. You may find more information about the university at their website: http://www.callutheran.edu/
We've had a good response from former Sakeji pupils worldwide, and we expect reservations to fill up quickly for the number of rooms we've blocked off. So please get your commitment in to us as soon as possible.
Please start collecting your Sakeji memorabilia such as photos, end of term programs, etc., to share with us at the reunion. We'd also value learning about your talents and strengths, e.g., music, drama, photography, children's activities, so we can make sure you are well involved in all the activities we are planning. Please feel free to e-mail us with any suggestions or questions.
Sincerely,
Dowa Bwanausi-Ross and Janice Bakke
